..and you get a stupid response.
Erik Loomis responds to my post about his clearly well reasoned article on the American Revolution.
Unfortunately he just doesn’t get it.
Lets put aside for a moment that fact hat 1) Michael Moore is a self-aggrandizing propagandist with barely anything truthful, let alone useful, to say 2) That Canada is clearly not the country America is when it comes to opportunity to live out ones dream or 3) That the American Revolution is arguably the greatest single moment of freedom and democracy in the history of the world. Put that aside - I’ll stipulate to all of Eric’s three assumptions.
The most moronic part of Eric’s original post is that he somehow extrapolates how over 200 years of history would play out to give him his liberal utopia in America. As if The American Revolution wasn’t a watershed in the history of British Imperialism. The map of the world wouldn’t even look the same - let alone the composition of modern political ideology. The original post is moronic not because of the ends he seeks to attain (although I will debate their merits in a free society) but rather because his methodology is at best 6th grade historical reasoning.
I reiterate - Most moronic post in the history of political blogging.
This guy decided to refute Eric’s original post “on the merits”. He clearly has more time to waste than I - but it is nonetheless a very good refutation.
Some guy named Tom decided to make a comment - Heh.
